Terms of Use

Draft for review. Not legal advice — have someone qualified read it before the app is published.

What this app is

Crate Cruiser: Vinyl Organizer identifies vinyl records from photographs of their spines and keeps track of where each one sits on your shelf.

Identification is a best guess

The app reads worn print in bad light and matches it against a database of millions of records. It will sometimes be wrong. Matches are shown as proposals you can accept, correct or reject, and you should treat them that way — particularly before buying or selling anything on the strength of one. Nothing here is a valuation or a guarantee of what a record is.

Your collection is yours

You keep every right in the photographs you take and the collection you build. If you sign in to an account, you grant permission to keep a copy of your shelf in it solely so that it can be shown to you on any device you sign in on and given back to you on a new one. It is not sold, shared or used to train anything. If you join the collector network, you also allow your shelf, wantlist and favourites to be counted into anonymous per-album totals shown to other signed-in users, as described in the privacy policy; leaving takes them out again.

Where the data comes from

Record data comes from the Discogs monthly data dumps, released under CC0, and from the Discogs API. Cover art is fetched from the Deezer API, Discogs and Apple's iTunes Search API and is the property of its respective owners. This app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Discogs, Deezer or Apple.
